Myanmar: Over 100,000 Metric Tons of Fish Exported in the First Five Months of the Current Fiscal Yea

Myanmar continues to export marine products to foreign countries, with more than 100,000 metric tons of fish exported in the first five months of the current fiscal year, according to an official from the Department of Fisheries.

Between April 1 and August 31 of this fiscal year, regular trade exports of marine products amounted to 65,611.96 metric tons, generating USD 88.643 million. Additionally, border trade exports reached 59,181.711 metric tons, generating USD 49.088 million. In total, Myanmar exported 124,793.671 metric tons of fish and earned USD 137.731 million.

During the same period of the previous fiscal year, Myanmar exported 59,885.234 metric tons of fish, earning USD 74.253 million.

Myanmar exports marine products, including shrimp and fish, to over 40 countries, such as China, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Japan. These exports are facilitated through regular trade from Yangon and direct exports via border trade.
